Assessing the Sufficiency of Existing Jordanian Laws to Regulate Blockchain Technology

Abstract

regulating transactions using blockchain technology, in light of the decentralized nature of this system. The research aims to clarify the legal characterization of blockchain and explain its operational mechanisms. The study adopts a descriptive-analytical methodology, analyzing relevant legal texts to assess their responsiveness to the technological developments introduced by distributed ledger systems. The findings reveal legislative gaps, particularly the absence of explicit provisions governing the operation of blockchain technology. The study concludes with a recommendation to establish a comprehensive legal framework that regulates this technology and defines legal responsibilities in the digital environment, thereby striking a balance between the protection of participants' legal rights and the requirements of technological innovation
